EDITH COWAN UNIVERSITY, PERTH CITY

Edith Cowan University (ECU) has embarked on a transformative relocation of its Mount Lawley campus - including the renowned Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) - to a new, state of the art city campus in the heart of Perth’s CBD.

The 11 level campus integrates seamlessly with the urban environment, while streetscapes and lively laneways connect the campus to Roe, Queen, and Wellington Streets, enhancing pedestrian movement and creating a dynamic public realm that blends learning spaces with the city’s everyday activity.

Supporting these high traffic public spaces, Pavement Innovations were engaged to supply the Bautek Bound System, incorporating BOND, BED and GROUT, to deliver durability and long term performance across a range of paved areas.

This landmark $853 million development represents Perth’s first fully comprehensive inner city university campus. Designed to inject the energy and vibrancy of more than 9,000 students and staff into the CBD, the campus is a major catalyst for economic growth and city revitalisation.
